Can't we just go back to our pseudo - quasi - happy existence?

July 12 of 12

I'm back again. And I haven't done a 12 of 12 in several months. I also have never done one on Blogger, I usually post them on myspace. But to do that, I have to first load my pictures onto another site, and well, I just don't have time for all that.

If you don't know what 12 of 12 is, it's simply 12 pictures of your day on the 12th of the month. I absolutely love looking at other people's, and while my life is relatively boring, hopefully you will enjoy mine too. So here we go.

7am. Time to get up. Parker has been playing in his crib for about 20 minutes now. I'm usually up between 6:30 and 7 every morning.

11am. The weekly Roland family Sunday breakfast. This time it's at IHOP. These breakfasts ruin my dieting, but it's good for Parker to spend time with the family.

1pm - Parker has become fascinated with airplanes. But really, with Matthew and I for parents, how could he not be? So I decided to drive out to the airport to watch planes land.

If you look real close, you can see the Eagle gates I used to work at. :) Parker didn't get into the planes so much here because by the time he could see them, they were on the ground. And once they're on the ground, they are just like big cars. Watching planes is much more exciting in Target parking lot. So we decided to drive over and see Matthew at work.

We took Parker up to the top of the tower for a bird's eye view of the planes, but he was more interested in the ceiling fan. I'm sure when he gets older, he will love to go up there!
2:30pm. I thought Parker would be ready for a nap when we got home. But who wants to nap when you can play? So we hung out in his playroom for awhile.

4pm - He finally decided to go to sleep! Wow. What a late nap. I thought about taking advantage of nap time to list some baby clothes on Ebay. But once I went down and looked at the pile, I changed my mind.

4:02pm So instead, I decide to sit out on the patio with Bijoux until Matthew gets home. I don't think I have posted any pictures of our new patio. I love it! It's so cool and shady down there.

4:30pm. Matthew gets home, tired as usual when he has to wake up at 4:30 am. So we did what they always tell you to do when you have a newborn. Sleep when they sleep! So we took a late afternoon siesta, which really did not but make me feel like crap.

6pm. After we all wake up, we feed Parker dinner and head out to the IHM Festival. Matthew decided to use the backpack to get himself in shape to carry it around Morocco. Ummm...

Anyway - Parker was his usual unimpressed self at the festival. All kinds of new sights and smells. But he's just too cool. Yeah. Been there, done that.

If I ever lost Matthew, he was easy to find. Just look for the bright red backpack. At the Wings stand!

When I was little, we went to just about every church festival in N KY. I remember it being loads of fun. As a kid. As an adult...well....it's not so much fun. So I have really been looking forward to doing things like that with Parker. Maybe find the joy in it again. Last night we walked around the IHM festival, bored, and were about to leave when we passed the rides. You know the one with the little cars that goes around in a circle? Oh how I remember riding those when I was little! The height requirement sign said they had to be 24 inches tall. Parker is 29 inches. Matthew said "Let's put him on it" I said "Nooooo! He's too little! He's just a baby! He won't know what to do, he will be scared. He will climb out. He will cry." (I'm not really an overprotective, worrying mommy)

But check him out! He has no concept of personal space yet. He kept grabbing the little girl's steering wheel and hogging the horn button. But how adorable is this! He was the littlest guy on there and lovin every minute of it!

We got home around 8:30, which is WAY past Mr. Parker's bath time. But we had to play with Bijoux for awhile and Practice Our Walking!

That's it! See ya next month!
